  • I have a valve (or tube, I am in the United States), very similar to this EIMAC ,new and unused. It is an EIMAC 450TH/VT108. This valve was accepted by the U.S. Navy on April 15, 1945. It was tested on 10-18-50. This tube was a backup for a 3000 watt AM or Radio Teletype (RTTY0 transmitter built in WWII. The transmitter was used on a WWII Naval ship. When the transmitter was removed from the ship, it was transferred to a U.S. Government Federal Communications Commission office. The transmitter was originally used by this office for communications with other offices and eventually became an emergency backup transmitter before being removed and sold for scrap in the early 1990's.
