'IN FLANDERS FIELD'

This poem was written by John Mc Crae, it refers to the First World War but is used to remember all wars. On Remembrance Sunday the poem spoken at the Cenotaph is as follows:

"They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them"

We wear poppies to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service men and women.
