EVER READY SKY KING PORTABLE WIRELESS, 1956

The Sky Queen was for the Ladies, the Sky King for the gent's. Medium and Long wave only it used an internal frame aerial, and the Battery was an Ever Ready B136 (combined HT 90v & LT 1.5v). Valves used are:- DK96 - DF96 - DAF96 and DL96. The price in June 1956 was £10 - plus taxes and batteries

Your comments:

  • My Grandfather had the Sky Queen because he moved to the Countryside (1954) and had no Electricity.
It was made 1953 to 1955.
The Sky King replaced the Sky Queen in 1956, so it's quite untrue to say one was for the Ladies and the other for the Men as they never were on sale together, except for some old stock. The Attachee case models (Vidor Lady Margaret or Ever Ready Sky Baby were aimed at Women. My mum had the Lady Margaret, bought 1955). My Grandfather's Sky Queen was still working in the 1960s when I stayed. The batteries were sold up to 1968 at least. Sky King is almost same insides and battery, a B136.
