Trench Periscope of the type used in the trenches during WW1.
Simple wooden structure with two mirrors, 22 and one half inches long.

Your comments:

  • Most of these periscopes came from the Australian Army war reserves and were sold out of service in the late 1970s. A friend of mine had a rifle shop in North Sydney - "The Armoury" and bought about 2mē of these. Hundreds of them. By the mid 80s they were all gone, sold to collectors all over the world.
