WW1 TRENCHING TOOL BATTLEFIELD FIND

Item found on the WW1 Battlefields in France, this is a British Soldiers Trenching Tool.

Your comments:

• From my military service I recall this item as an 'entrenching tool', i.e. one designed to dig a trench in the first place, although it might be then used within the trench for whatever purpose.
