1965/6 TELEGRAMS, 1965

Two examples of machine printed tape on Telegrams. See Item A0098 in Sounders and Stations section.

Your comments:

  • The printed gummed tape stuck onto these telegram forms was printed by the Creed model 47 illustrated which was used on the GPO private TAS (Teleprinter Automatic Switching) network.

The word TELEX (TELeprinter EXchange) is a public communications network and was not connected to the GPO TAS network.
So the word TELEX should be removed from your description.
.......... Larry (ex GPO/BT telegraph operator Birmingham), Perth Australia, 27th of April 2012
